printmaking tutorial | linoleum


Making a lino cut is a rather straight forward process. You create your concept, sketch out your image, transfer the sketch to the linoleum, cut it out, ink up the block, then print the block. 

Simple right? 

No! Not so.

The process is rather rigorous and completely hands on. I'm coming to find this fact is true in ALL forms of printmaking. Printmaking isn't a delicate artform in the slightest, like oil painting or watercolor, it's a completely hands on, grimy, dirty, messy craft that'll make your hands hurt and your arms sore for days.
